Halo Wars in the Backyard

So I went to a birthday cookout celebrating the Rick. The cake was good and the burgers were better. The beer kept coming and the shots too.

Totally 80s Trivia is not my forte, unless of course, its someone else's turn....

I think the best part of all was the watergun fight with the kids. I would have been a victim if not for my shield ( paper plate).

Day Two - Seattle Ina Nutshell

So yeah day one gone and off the the BIG city. Wow, there sure were a lot of homeless.

Three Unexpected Sites:

Thar be dragons here.

A Busch Gardens ( Local humor *for me* )

Oh yeah, at three-o-clock, everyone gets towed.

We visited Pike's Market ( Spent a lot of money ) Saw a lot of neat Seattle artists and wares. Sampled good food and found a comic shop ( Where, yes, I spent a lot of money ). I also got to see a market place called Uwagimaya's. Best place on Earth. Period.

Continuing on, we ventured to the dumping ground of the Green River Killer! Morbid I know but still interesting. And Ironic.

Day One - Seattle Arrival

Okay so this was my first real vacation. Ever.

Started off in ORF ( Norfolk, Va ) and landed in ATL (Atlanta, Ga ). So far so good, and ATL is really not new to me as I have LOTS of family there but...

Never had I the opportunity to sample these tasty little X's ( burger's in cook tongue ). Generally, I wouldn't go in for this sort of thing but my discipline pretty much got flushed down the toilet after that first beer in ORF airport. So yes indeed I had my Harold and Kumar moment.

Upon landing in Seattle and seeing my breath in the air, I said to my self wow, cold weather ( we didn't have any this winter in VB ). Ah, but I trekked onward until I came upon one of those crazy author people, you know the type, all creative with their words and phrases. So I waved. She waved. It was good to see my friend.

We drove to the house and I got to meet The Lou. In addition, I greeted my little adopted sister-in-a-box and my drinking buddy.

Stayed up for a while yadda yadda zzzzzzzzz.... ( slept like two hours ) -_-

The site

...is almost LIVE!!!!

Yeah, I just need to polish a few of the ruddy bits and then JODIHENLEY.COM will enter (at least) a more streamlined existance!

Uses javascript so that's pretty cool. I use the script to hide and unhide content.

Also added custom graphics for the reference links using most of the sites reviewed and sent along to the romance writing masses.

So, I think I can say today or tomorrow?

Cross your fingers!!!

The NEW Site...

...or as I like to call it, "Argh!!!!.com"

So, now it's down to finishing touches, and it finals week so this is gonna suck, like really.

I've also been ill and missed class -- which has put me behind. Again.

On being pegged as NOT existing on the fringe of society...

So. Yeah. Lost a lot of weight after seven years, carry around my laptop in a briefcase purchased by Cup, and on Wednesday dress in professional garb of college requirements (alternating between two nice shirts, three ties, and a single pair of slacks,) and in an effort to project said professionalism towards the success of my friend's site and career (appearind at our weekly meeting dressed as I do for school on Weds.)

So again, after years, I am viewed as a different person. A sellout, yuppy to be exact. Nevermind the fact that between Wednesday and Tuesday I sport a week of grubby facial hair, originally designed t-tshirts (i.e. I make them), grubby cook-stained jeans, steel toe boots or SB Dunks that I actually WEAR, and a generally shitty attitude.

Yeah. I wonder around town one day a week looking dressed up and getted knocked fr it. When I rule the world, nobody's wearing suits and ties.

On being tired

z z z z z......

On dual inspiration

So I was simultaniously receiving text updates from two very talented artists at the same time. One was painting and one was writing poetry. And both were saying how they felt the works were creating themselves. Kinda cool.

On meeting the right person

So I met a woman. All fire and passion, art and intellect.
So what's the problem? Bad timing.
I had to spin it positive and ended up with a great friend and it's cool. The rolling stones said something like, you can't always get what you want but you may find sometimes you get what you need. I needed someone on my wavelength and some inspiration. Check. Cup says it's for the best and my logical mind couldn't agree more.

On being able to do something

I was able to help you and I'm glad of that. I wish there was more but I think it was all that needed to be done. Make it count, I know you will.

I feel Like Scotty from that Sci Fi Show

So Captain Kirk (Cup) says to me after I mention that I found some bugs in the page, that she saw them too.

Two typos in fact, which incidentally aren't the bugs I was talking about. So didn't mention them, and told her I would have it fixed before she called me back.

Which I did and fixed the bugs I found too! She, of course did not even notice the problems I had seen nor the issues I still have with the site.

Well, this is my shameless plug. Buy Hot Contract.

And Visit her site: www.jodihenley.com

Engines are at maximum, Captain!

Ring in the New Year....Please!

2007 has been a year of endings, personal changes, and personal choices.

For those who chose (or not) to let loose from this mortal coil (friends and family all):

Earl Gregory Jr
Elena Garcia
Sal Cardona
Steve Morgan

For the changes and choices I have made, I remain hopeful while planning for the worst.

Update on Abuela

I actually convenced my family not to split up the photograghs and documents until I can have them scanned. Everyone in the family should have access to them.

My mom called today and asked if I could write Abuela's obit. Wow.

Heart Murmers

Got a hole in my heart.

I don't think I want to do this ever again. After five years, it gonna be awhile before I can entertain the notion of another relationship. Funny, I didn't do anything wrong and it still failed.

My Abuela (Grandma) is gonna die soon as well, probably this month. After she goes, I don't think my mom's family will ever be together again, not even for Noche Buena (Christmas Eve).

....

and the beat goes on.

peace.

How I Make My Money: and some of the stupid I gotta deal with.

What I do: Line Cook (Food Assembly Technician)

Stupid I deal With:

Server: "My table wanted raw onions. I couldn't find the button for raw onions, so I rang in
'rare' onions.

Me: "Just typing in 'onion' means uncooked red onion rings."

Server: "But, I thought the onions turned purple after they were cooked."

Me: "......"

Don't even worry about it, more to come.

Breaking The Ice....

Paul McCartney once said...

"And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make."

It was the only thing he ever said. I think hanging around George and John had to have some kind of influence eventually.
